Kareena Kapoor Says "Aamir Is God" !!!

Kareena Kapoor has a lot to celebrate. Her film 3 Idiots is a runaway hit. And Kareena decided to run away to Delhi to be with her sister Karisma for New Years.

Sounding more relaxed than she did recently, Kareena took time off from the very special family gathering to speak. "I've been running around frantically promoting my film. And then I was ailing for a week. I decided I had to be well for the festive season. Christmas was a very very special occasion for my mom and sister. But we never get to be together for the occasion. This time I was adamant. I made sure I took time off from work so all us girls could spend time together. My mom and I were here in Delhi to spend time with my sister and niece."

Laughs Kareena, "Karisma and I don't get to spend that much time together. She has her home and husband in Delhi. My career takes me all over the place. Mom cribs we're never together. This year-end reunion was something we had promised ourselves from long before."

In Delhi, Kareena is over-whelmed by the response to her new film. "Everywhere I go I am swamped by compliments for the role. The length of the role didn't matter. I'm just glad to be part of a historic happening. When Rajkumar Hirani and Aamir asked me to be part of their film I jumped at it. I knew the film would be special because of Raju and Aamir, and I was right. As far as our cinema is concerned, Aamir is God."

Reacting to the opinion that Kareena hardly has anything to do in her new film Kareena says, "Who says I've nothing to do? I'm very part of the main drama .Would the story forward if you remove my character? "

Kareena is specially pleased by the compliments she has received for her pairing with Aamir. "Everyone thinks we look good together. I think Aamir and I make a fantastic pair. I'd love to do another film with him immediately, this time I don't want share him with other pivotal characters."

In fact talks are on with two leading filmmakers including Mani Ratnam who is apparently all set to revive his Aamir-Kareena project Lajjo. A R Rahman and Gulzar have even recorded the songs.

Looking back on the year Kareena feels happy about the response to her performances in Kurbaan and 3 Idiots. "Both films are very precious to me. Kurbaan was intense, 3 Idiots was more fun. In 2010 I did films with all the Khans.... Salman, Aamir, Shah Rukh (I had a song with him in Billu) and of course Saif."

Our Chetan Bhagat is hungry for publicity says "Aamir Khan"

Noida, Jan 1 (IANS) Actor Aamir Khan Friday said author Chetan Bhagat was "hungry for publicity" and denied claims that the film "3 Idiots" was 70 percent based on Bhagat's bestseller "Five Point Someone".

"Three months earlier he (Bhagat) was saying something else and now he is saying something else as the movie is a huge hit now," Aamir told reporters at a press conference at Big Cinemas here.

"While we were shooting at IIM (Indian Institute of Management) Bangalore, Chetan had come to meet us. So when I told him that I haven't read your book, he replied that there was no need to do so as I have read the script and it is different from the book... So no need to read it," the actor said.

"Now he is telling everyone that our movie is 70 percent on the book. It all shows that we are being used, you (media) are being used. This clearly shows that he is hungry for publicity," Aamir said.

He added that Bhagat was trying to take away credit from Abhijat Joshi, the writer of the film that has grossed over Rs.100 crore in its first four days.

"Did you know about the writer before the movie was released?" he asked.

"Abhijat and Raju (director Rajkumar Hirani) have worked on this script for three years. Chetan is a big writer but Abhijat was the other guy who was working on the script. Full credit is given to him and he is not their (producers or directors) brother. But he deserved it," Aamir said.

"All Chetan is trying to do right now is taking away credit from these people who deserve it. Let's not encourage someone who is hungry for publicity," he added.

Directed by Hirani, "3 Idiots" stars Aamir, R.Madhavan, Sharman Joshi and Kareena Kapoor.

Reliance BIG Entertainment, distributor of the film, released about 2,000 prints across 40 countries.

I was vary much persuaded to throw those condoms at college crowd says Neha Dhupia

New Delhi, Jan 2 (IANS) Neha Dhupia says she had to be goaded quite a bit to throw a goody bag full of condoms and contraceptive pills at a college crowd here to promote her film "Raat Gayi Baat Gayi" but realised it was a great marketing strategy that sent out a positive message.

"We had gone to the Mood Indigo festival at IIT (Indian Institute of Technology) in Mumbai and I was asked to throw around this goody bag. I said 'No! I'm not throwing it'," Neha told IANS. "But my producer (Rangita Nandy) insisted that 'You must because it's got everything to do with the film'.

"And I was like 'No! What are we trying to project?' But I guess that was her way of promoting the film. We are just mediums. So I said yes to it."

"Raat Gayi Baat Gayi", a Percept Picture Company (PPC) project, is about a one night stand. The movie has been directed by Saurabh Shukla and also features Rajat Kapoor, Vinay Pathak and Ranvir Shorey.

The producers were trying to pull off a successful marketing stunt by throwing bags full of condoms, contraceptives, Disprin pills, et al, and Neha finally did it after realising that the exercise had a message attached to it.

"There was a message in all this - that if you have a hangover or if you are having a very drunk night - you must have contraceptives, protection, or antacid pills like Disprin. Everything was there in the bag. The message was - take it and go party. The bags had everything except cash to buy the alcohol," said the 29-year-old.

The former beauty queen says she was pleasantly surprised with the response from the young students.

"The way the students reacted to me was so beautiful. It was the first time I ever went up to the stage and sang. I sang like a rock star or at least I thought I was. They just grabbed the bags. But if at that time, even if I would have thrown the wire of the mike, they would have grabbed it. Actually, initially I was hesitant about throwing it, but I learnt how to laugh with it," she said.

After "Raat Gayi Baat Gayi", in which she plays a mysterious woman called Sophia, Neha is looking forward to movies like "Action Replay", "Raftaar" and "Pappu Can't Dance Saala".

She, however, admits that she would like to do a romantic movie opposite Bollywood's king of romance Shah Rukh Khan.

"I am looking forward to a nice romantic film which hasn't come my way yet. I am hoping to get that soon. I am a big Shah Rukh fan and I would like him to be in it but then it doesn't have to be him. It can be anybody. It's just that Shah Rukh is magnificent," she added.
